The United Music Foundation is a non-profit foundation under private law, recognised as being of public benefit. It is governed by a Board of Trustees and operates under the supervision of the ASFIP (Supervisory Authority for Foundations and Pension Institutions).
The Board of Trustees safeguards the Foundation’s mission, ensures the responsible use of its resources, and sets the overall direction of its activities. Projects are managed and coordinated by the Project Manager, in close collaboration with the Board of Trustees and the Foundation’s partners.
Yves de Matteis holds a degree in philosophy and in French and English literature. He has worked in the fields of education, human rights and culture, notably serving on the Board of Trustees of the Grand Théâtre de Genève and working for the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Geneva.
A former member of the Geneva City Council and currently a member of the Grand Council of the Republic and Canton of Geneva, he also has extensive experience of Geneva’s public institutions.
Passionate about music and cultural heritage, he is the founder and President of the United Music Foundation.
Born into a family of musicians, Damaris Fontaine completed commercial training and holds a certificate in accounting. She has extensive experience in administration, human resources and accounting, notably within a Geneva-based foundation where she worked for more than fifteen years.
She now runs a natural therapies practice in Geneva and brings to the Board of Trustees her experience in administrative and financial management.
After an initial period working in the entertainment world, Antoine Bouget devoted most of his professional life to the socio-educational field in Geneva, notably within the Établissements publics pour l’intégration (EPI), a public institution supporting the social and professional inclusion of people with disabilities and others facing integration difficulties.
Passionate about music and the history of popular song, he has developed an in-depth knowledge of artists and repertoires over the years. His expertise is regularly sought by artists, producers and the media, for whom he works as a consultant.
A music industry professional since 1985, David Hadzis has worked as a composer, record producer, sound engineer and executive producer, collaborating with numerous internationally renowned artists, musicians and producers.
For more than thirty years, he has specialised in the preservation, restoration and enhancement of recorded musical heritage. Since 2013, he has been responsible for managing the projects of the United Music Foundation. His expertise focuses in particular on the preservation and restoration of magnetic tapes and historic audio media.
His work on the preservation of Pyral CJ87 tapes from the Montreux Jazz Festival archives is presented in a scientific article published in the ARSC Journal, a leading international publication devoted to the study, preservation and history of recorded sound. He has also co-authored a scientific article on the mechanisms of magnetic tape degradation, published in npj Heritage Science, a Nature Portfolio journal.
