Music is much more than an art form: it is a living memory, a bridge that connects cultures and spans generations. Each recording is a gateway to an era, a story, an emotion…
The mission of the United Music Foundation is to preserve, enhance, and pass on all recorded musical heritage at risk of disappearing, along with the history it holds.
This precious cultural heritage is now under threat due to the continuous degradation of recorded media, the accelerated obsolescence of playback equipment, and the gradual loss of specialized technical expertise, essential for its preservation.
This alarming situation, marked by the loss of countless recordings of inestimable value, prompted UNESCO to establish the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the world's audiovisual heritage.
Since its creation in 2013, the United Music Foundation has preserved thousands of recordings, unveiling many treasures from iconic artists. Its work has been recognized with two national awards: The Best Reissue Award from the Académie du Jazz (Paris), and the Memoriav – Swiss Commission for UNESCO Award (Bern).
You can help us preserve this precious heritage:
- By entrusting us with the preservation and enhancement of your recordings,
- By supporting our foundation through donations or legacies.
